Maharashtra Woman Arrested for Killing 3-Month-Old Daughter Over Husband’s Resemblance

In a shocking case from Nashik, Maharashtra, a woman has been arrested for killing her 3-month-old baby girl. The disturbing reason behind the crime: the woman was annoyed that people kept saying the baby looked like her husband, police said.

The woman, a resident of Gangapur Shivar area, initially misled authorities by claiming that a stranger had entered their house on Monday evening, made her unconscious using a chemical, and then murdered the child by slitting her throat.

However, police found CCTV footage and other evidence that contradicted her version of the story. Investigators also noticed inconsistencies in the statements given by her and her relatives.

Eventually, when the police confronted her with the findings, the mother confessed to the crime. She told police she was upset because her in-laws and others often said the baby resembled her husband, which made her emotionally distressed.

The police have arrested the woman and said that further investigation is ongoing to understand the full motive and circumstances surrounding the crime.

This horrifying incident has shocked the local community and raised concerns about mental health awareness and support for new mothers.
