In a distressing incident from Kerala, a man committed suicide while his partner, who had initially agreed to die with him, changed her mind at the last moment. The couple had checked into a hotel in Pathanamthitta district with the intention of ending their lives together.
The 31-year-old man followed through with the plan and took his own life, while his girlfriend backed out at the last moment. The incident came to light when hotel staff heard the woman crying and found the man hanging in their room. Blood was also noted on the woman’s ear, leading the staff to contact the police.
The police arrived, took the woman to a local hospital, and then referred her to Kottayam Medical College hospital for further treatment. The woman told authorities that she and her partner had planned to die together. They had checked into the hotel on Sunday, taken some medicines, and then the man proceeded with his suicide. The woman, overwhelmed by fear, began screaming, which led to the discovery.
The woman’s family had already reported her missing to the local police when she failed to return home on Sunday. The police are currently investigating the case, and the reasons behind the couple’s drastic decision remain unclear.
