Couple Attempts Suicide in Kerala; Man Kills Himself, Woman Survives
In a tragic incident from Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district, a couple checked into a hotel with the intention to end their lives together. However, the 31-year-old man proceeded to take his own life, while his girlfriend, who initially agreed to the plan, backed out at the last moment.
The incident came to light when hotel staff heard the woman crying in her room on Monday night. Upon entering, they discovered the man hanging and noticed blood on the woman’s ear. The staff immediately alerted the police, who took the woman to a local hospital and later referred her to Kottayam Medical College hospital for further treatment.
According to reports, the woman recounted that they had both decided to end their lives together and had checked into the hotel on Sunday. She stated that they consumed some medications, after which the man hanged himself. Overcome with fear, she began screaming, which alerted the hotel staff.
Meanwhile, the woman’s family had filed a missing person report with the local police station when she did not return home on Sunday as expected.
As investigations continue, authorities are working to understand the reasons behind this tragic decision by the couple to take such extreme measures.
