Man Broadcasts Suicide on Instagram Live: Wife Accuses Female Friend of Blackmail
On September 12th, a 35-year-old man named Vikram tragically committed suicide, broadcasting the act live on Instagram from a hotel room in Gurugram. His wife, Neeru, has accused a female friend of blackmailing him and driving him to take his own life.
According to Neeru’s complaint, Vikram went to a hotel in Sector 38 to celebrate the birthday of a female friend. During the stay, he was allegedly forced to commit suicide and record it on Instagram Live. Neeru claims the woman was blackmailing Vikram, demanding money, and threatening to upload compromising videos of them online. She stated, “She tortured Vikram twice and forced him to kill himself.”
The couple resided in the Rajendra Park area with their two children. Vikram had befriended the 20-year-old woman, who is from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, a few months prior.
Reports indicate that the woman was present in the room when Vikram hanged himself but did not intervene. After Vikram’s death, she informed the guest house staff, who then called the police. The woman lives in rented accommodation in Sector 39 and works at a real estate company in Gurugram.
Police have filed a case under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the woman based on Neeru’s complaint.
