Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the situation in Kharkiv, Ukraine, where over a thousand Indian students were stranded due to the ongoing conflict. As a result of this conversation, Indian girl students have been safely transported by train to Ukraine’s western border with the help of the Russian government. The journey took approximately 20 hours.
Efforts are also underway to evacuate the remaining male students.
A statement from India’s foreign ministry confirmed that PM Modi and President Putin reviewed the situation in Ukraine, particularly focusing on Kharkiv, where many Indian students were trapped.
