Haryana: Husband Dies by Suicide, FIR Filed Against Wife and Her Family
In a tragic incident in Ganaur town of Sonipat, Haryana, a 25-year-old man named Ashish died after allegedly being harassed by his wife and her family. The man consumed poison and later died during treatment at Khanpur PGI hospital.
Ashish’s father, Krishna Kumar, said his son was under extreme stress as his wife, Himanshi, had been staying at her maternal home for over three and a half months and refused to return. She had allegedly threatened to file false cases of rape and dowry against Ashish.
According to the family, every time Ashish went to her house, he was mentally abused and threatened by her family members. On Sunday, Himanshi’s father, brother, and grandmother allegedly came to Ashish’s house and threatened him again. Later that evening, Ashish consumed poison.
Ashish and Himanshi were married on April 20, 2022. His father stated that since the marriage, Himanshi along with her mother Annu, father Rakesh, grandmother Murthy, and brother Shankar had been harassing him mentally. The wife reportedly refused to return with Ashish each time he visited her home, and her family verbally abused him.
The police have registered an FIR against Himanshi and her family members. The case is still under investigation, and more details are awaited.
