Haryana Woman Attacks Man With Acid After He Refuses Marriage Proposal
A horrifying acid attack took place in Haryana on Wednesday, where a woman allegedly threw acid on a 25-year-old man named Shyam Singh after he refused her marriage proposal. The incident occurred in the Mayur Vihar colony, when Shyam stepped out to buy milk.
According to reports, the woman wanted to marry Shyam, but both he and his family were against the relationship. When he rejected her, she allegedly attacked him with a five-liter can of acid. Shyam suffered severe burns on his arms, neck, back, mouth, and legs, and is currently in the ICU of a private hospital in critical condition.
Shyam, a resident of Bahadurgarh in Jhajjar district, lives with his aunt, as his parents passed away a few years ago. His aunt filed a complaint against the accused. She revealed that the woman, who is from Gohana, used to call Shyam regularly and later came to their house with her mother, asking for marriage.
However, Shyam and his aunt later discovered that the woman was already married and living separately from her husband, which led to his refusal. Despite this, the woman allegedly continued to contact him and even threatened that she would not allow him to marry anyone else if he didn’t marry her.
After the threats, Shyam’s aunt advised him to stay home. But on Wednesday morning, the woman was seen inquiring about him at local shops, showing his photo. In the evening, she attacked him while he was out buying milk.
DSP City Virendra Rao confirmed the incident and said the police are investigating and will take strict action against the woman responsible.
This tragic case highlights the growing concern over acid attacks and the urgent need for stronger laws and preventive measures to protect victims from such violent acts.
