In a shocking incident in Haryana, a woman allegedly threw acid on a man after he refused her marriage proposal. The attack occurred on Wednesday when the man, Shyam Singh, was out buying milk in Mayur Vihar Colony, Bahadurgarh. The woman, enraged by his rejection, hurled a can of acid at him, leaving him with severe burns.
Shyam, 25, is currently in critical condition in the ICU of a private hospital. His aunt, with whom he had been living since his parents’ death, has lodged a formal complaint against the attacker.
The woman had reportedly proposed marriage to Shyam, but he declined after learning about her previous marriage and ongoing separation. Despite his refusal, the woman continued to call and threaten him, demanding he marry her or face dire consequences.
The incident occurred after the woman approached shopkeepers in the area asking for Shyam’s whereabouts. Later that evening, she confronted him on the street and threw acid at him, causing severe injuries to his arms, legs, mouth, neck, and back.
Police are actively investigating the case and are working to arrest the accused. The authorities have promised strict action against the woman responsible for the attack.
