Tragic Gurugram Incident: Man Commits Suicide on Instagram Live, Wife Accuses Female Friend of Blackmail
A 35-year-old man from Gurugram, Vikram, committed suicide on Instagram Live from a hotel room on September 12th. His wife, Neeru, has accused a female friend of blackmailing him and driving him to this tragic act.
According to Neeru’s complaint, Vikram went to a hotel in Sector 38 to celebrate the birthday of his female friend. Neeru alleges that this woman constantly blackmailed Vikram, demanding money and threatening to release objectionable videos of them online. Neeru claims this torment led Vikram to end his life while broadcasting it on Instagram Live.
The couple resided in Rajendra Park with their two children. Vikram had befriended the 20-year-old woman, who is from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, a few months ago. Neeru alleges that the woman was present in the room during the suicide and did nothing to prevent it.
According to reports, the woman left the room before Vikram’s suicide and alerted the guest house staff after seeing his Instagram Live post. The staff then contacted the police. The woman lives in a rented apartment in Sector 39 and works for a real estate company in Gurugram.
The police have filed a case under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code against the female friend based on Neeru’s complaint. The investigation is ongoing.
