Suchana Seth, a 39-year-old CEO of The Mindful AI Lab, a startup, allegedly killed her four-year-old son in Goa and then traveled with the body to Karnataka, as reported by a police official on January 9.
Goa police arrested Seth in Chitradurga, Karnataka, on January 8, and the motive behind the killing remains unknown.
Seth checked into a rented apartment in Candolim, Goa, on January 6 with her son. After staying for two days, she informed the staff that she intended to go to Bengaluru and requested a taxi, despite staff suggesting a cheaper flight option. Later, bloodstains were found in the apartment, leading to immediate police involvement.
Suchana Seth claimed the blood was due to her monthly periods and said her son was with a friend in Margao. The provided address turned out to be fake, and the taxi driver was instructed to take her to the nearest police station in Karnataka.
Chitradurga police found the child’s dead body in the vehicle, detained Seth, and cooperated with the Goa police. She was presented before a magistrate in Hiriyur, Karnataka, and later transported to Goa. The post-mortem is scheduled in Hiriyur.
