Ghaziabad Man Murdered by Wife and Her Lover, Body Found After 4 Years

In a shocking revelation from Ghaziabad, the police recovered a man’s skeletal remains nearly four years after he was killed and buried by his wife and her lover.

The victim, Chandra Vir, was reported missing in 2018 by his wife, Savita, who falsely claimed he had been kidnapped. Over the years, she tried to blame his younger brother for the disappearance, according to police reports.

On 15th November 2022, the Crime Branch unearthed his body from a pit dug in the house of Arun, Savita’s alleged lover and co-accused in the murder. The pit was 6 to 7 feet deep, hidden under a cement floor in Arun’s home, where he continued to live after the crime.

According to Superintendent of Police (Crime) Diksha Sharma, fresh leads recently emerged that helped police crack the case. Although she didn’t reveal what triggered the reinvestigation, it led to the discovery of the long-buried truth.

Police said the murder was premeditated. The pit was dug days before the crime, and the plan was to bury the body deep to avoid any foul smell. The murder was carried out using a pistol and an axe, both of which have been recovered as evidence.

The gruesome case was exposed on the same day that two other murders were reported—one in Ghaziabad and another in neighbouring Delhi.

In one of the other incidents, a man from Seetamarhi, Bihar, was found dead in his home in Khushal Park, Ghaziabad, with his throat slit early Saturday morning, further highlighting the alarming rise in violent crimes in the region.
