In a shocking case from Ghaziabad, police uncovered the decomposed body of a man, Chandra Vir, on November 15, 2022, four years after he was reported missing. The body was found buried seven feet deep in the house of his neighbor, Arun, who was allegedly involved in the crime along with Chandra Vir’s wife, Savita.
Back in 2018, Savita had filed a missing person report for her husband, claiming he had been kidnapped. However, police have now revealed that Savita, along with her lover Arun, had planned and executed the murder. According to the investigation, the duo shot and hacked Chandra Vir to death before burying his body in a pit that had been pre-dug in Arun’s house.
The pit, about six to seven feet deep, was later covered with cement flooring, and Arun continued to live in the house as if nothing had happened. Police believe the depth of the pit was intended to prevent any odor from escaping, keeping the crime hidden for years.
Recent leads from the Crime Branch prompted a re-investigation, which eventually led to the discovery of the body, now reduced to a skeleton. A pistol and an axe, believed to have been used in the murder, were also recovered.
This revelation came on the same day as another murder case in Ghaziabad and a separate case in neighboring Delhi, adding to the area’s recent surge in violent crime.
