Delhi Woman and Son Murder Husband, Chop Body, Store in Fridge Before Disposal

In a horrifying crime in Delhi, a woman and her son have been arrested for killing her husband, chopping his body into 22 pieces, storing them in a fridge, and disposing of them in different parts of East Delhi.

The Crime and Investigation

The Delhi Police started investigating the case in June, when body parts were found in Pandav Nagar. Since the remains had decomposed, the police could not identify the victim immediately.

The investigation gained momentum when the Shraddha Walkar murder case made headlines. Police examined whether the unidentified body parts were related to that case.

While scanning CCTV footage, the police noticed a woman and a young man frequently visiting the area where the body parts were found. Further inquiries revealed that Anjan Das, a resident of Pandav Nagar, had been missing for six months. Suspiciously, his family had not filed any missing person report.

How the Murder Happened

According to police, the accused Poonam and her son Deepak killed Anjan Das in June. The motive was suspected infidelity.

  • They drugged him with sleeping pills.
  • Once unconscious, they murdered him.
  • Deepak chopped the body into 22 pieces.
  • They stored the body parts in a fridge before disposing of them over several days.

CCTV Footage and Arrest

Chilling CCTV footage from the area captured Deepak carrying a bag late at night, believed to contain body parts. His mother, Poonam, was seen following him.

Another clip showed them walking around in broad daylight, making multiple trips to dispose of the remains.

Following detailed surveillance and investigation, the police arrested Poonam and Deepak for the gruesome murder.

More Details Awaited

The police continue to investigate the full details of the case, including any additional evidence or motives. This case has once again highlighted the disturbing nature of domestic crimes in Delhi.
