Delhi Mother Ties 5-Year-Old Daughter on Rooftop in Blazing Heat for Not Doing Homework
The Delhi Police have registered a case against a mother from Karawal Nagar’s Tukhmirpur area for tying her 5-year-old daughter on the rooftop in extreme heat as punishment for not completing her homework.
A video that went viral shows the little girl tied with ropes, crying and trying to break free under the hot sun. Her hands and legs were bound, and her skin appeared to be burning due to the heat.
Legal Action Taken
After the video surfaced online, Delhi Police located the family and filed a case under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act, which deals with cruelty to children.
Family Members Speak Out
The child’s uncle, Sunil, said that the mother often gets angry and beats the children for small reasons. On that day, she tied the girl and left her in the sun for a long time. The rest of the family later rescued her from the rooftop.
Sunil added, “She wasn’t like this earlier. But in the past 2-3 years, her behavior has changed. She says the kids are hers and no one else has the right to interfere.”
The girl’s aunt, Pooja, said the mother not only treats the daughter badly but also her 6-year-old son. She frequently argues with family members and ignores warnings from others.
Neighbors Confirm Abuse
A neighbor named Pradeep confirmed that everyone in the area knows how the mother mistreats her children. He recalled another shocking incident where she allegedly forced her son to stand naked in winter, and neighbors had to give him clothes.
Mother’s Statement to Police
When questioned, the mother told the police that she only tied her daughter for five to seven minutes and brought her down afterward. However, by then, the video had already gone viral.
Case Registered
Following public outrage and viral footage, the police have registered a case against the mother and are continuing their investigation.
