Daughter of Delhi Cop Arrested for Hitting Valet Attendant with Car at Saket Mall

Delhi ACP’s Daughter Arrested for Injuring Valet with Car at Saket Mall

On October 16, the daughter of an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Delhi was arrested for allegedly injuring a valet parking attendant with her car at a mall in Saket, South Delhi.

As per the Delhi Police, the incident happened around 9:35 PM. The complainant, Ram Ashish Kumar, who works as a valet and lives in Pilanji village, Sarojini Nagar, said he had just driven a guest’s car out of the mall’s basement.

“After I got out of the car, an i20 car came from the same basement and passed very close to me, hitting both my feet,” Kumar mentioned in his complaint.

He added that his colleagues immediately rushed him to the hospital for medical care. He didn’t file the complaint right away as he was waiting for his family.

DCP (South Delhi) Chandan Chowdhary confirmed that the valet was taken to Max Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

“He didn’t give a statement on the day of the incident. Once we received his complaint, a case was registered under Sections 279 (rash driving) and 337 (causing hurt by endangering life) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC),” said DCP Chowdhary.

The police have begun a full investigation into the case.
