Complaint Filed Against Justice D.Y. Chandrachud: Allegations of Conspiracy and Misconduct
A complaint has been filed with the President of India against Justice D.Y. Chandrachud by R.K. Pathan, who claims to be the President of the Supreme Court & High Court Litigants Association of India. The complaint also names Advocate Abhinav Chandrachud, Justice Chandrachud’s son, as an accused.
The complainant alleges that Advocate Abhinav Chandrachud, who practices at the Bombay High Court, is representing Sagar Suryavanshi and Sheetal Tejwani, alleged masterminds behind a money extortion case in Pune (FIR No. 806 of 2019).
Allegations of Conspiracy
According to the complaint, after their extortion plans failed, Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, his son, and others allegedly conspired to pressurize petitioners and the judiciary. The complaint references a petition (SLP (Crl.) No. 9131 of 2021) filed by Anita K. Chavan in the Supreme Court as part of this conspiracy.
The complainant claims that on November 29, 2021, Justice Chandrachud presided over a hearing concerning this matter. Allegedly, he passed an illegal order without hearing the state’s counsel or issuing notices to other parties. This decision, the complaint states, served the interests of his son and others involved in the case.
Conflict of Interest Allegations
The complaint asserts that Justice Chandrachud should have recused himself from hearing any case involving his son. By passing orders favoring his son’s client, the complaint accuses Justice Chandrachud of violating several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Sections 166, 219, 409, 120(B), and 34.
Claims of Favoritism in Vaccine Policies
The complainant also accuses Justice Chandrachud of supporting COVID-19 vaccination policies that allegedly benefited vaccine companies with wrongful profits worth thousands of crores.
Demands in the Complaint
The complainant has requested:
- Registration of an FIR under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
- Directions for relevant authorities to file a contempt petition in the Supreme Court.
- Investigations by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Income Tax Department, Central Vigilance Commission, and other agencies into alleged links with anti-national figures like Bill Gates and George Soros.
- A request to the Chief Justice of India to exercise powers under the in-house procedure.
- That Chief Justice U.U. Lalit not recommend Justice Chandrachud’s name for the position of Chief Justice of India.
