In a shocking crime in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, a 23-year-old college student was poisoned by his girlfriend after he refused to end their relationship. The woman, identified as Greeshma, mixed pesticides into his drink on October 14, leading to his death 10 days later in the hospital.

Girlfriend Confesses to the Crime

After eight hours of questioning, Greeshma confessed to poisoning her boyfriend, Sharon, as she wanted to end the relationship but he refused. According to police reports, she premeditated the murder and invited Sharon to her house to carry out the plan.

How the Murder Happened

Greeshma mixed a pesticide named Kapiq into an ayurvedic drink and gave it to Sharon. Shortly after consuming it, he started vomiting. He later left with his friend, unaware of the poisoning.

According to Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Greeshma had planned the murder in advance and tricked Sharon into drinking the poisoned mixture.

Relationship Issues Led to the Crime

Sharon and Greeshma had been dating for over a year. However, problems arose in February 2022, and Greeshma’s wedding was arranged with another man. Despite this, the couple continued their relationship. In recent months, their issues worsened, and Greeshma repeatedly tried to convince Sharon to break up, but he refused.

In a desperate attempt to make him leave, she even lied to him, claiming that her horoscope predicted that her first husband would die.

Missed Chance to Save Sharon

Sharon’s brother kept calling Greeshma to ask what she had given him, but out of fear, she did not reveal the truth. Police believe that if she had spoken up, Sharon’s life could have been saved.

Death and Investigation

Sharon passed away on October 25 at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. His family alleged that his death was a planned murder by Greeshma.

Before his death, the magistrate recorded his statement on October 20, followed by the police on October 21. In his statement, Sharon did not suspect anyone, making the case even more tragic.

Following her confession, Greeshma has been taken into police custody in Thiruvananthapuram.
