Bride Calls Off Wedding After Groom Touches Her Neck During Garland Exchange
In a bizarre turn of events in Karnataka, a wedding was abruptly called off when the bride became angry after the groom touched her neck while they were exchanging garlands. The couple, from Moodukonaje and Naravi, had planned their wedding for May 25, 2022, at Naravi.
During the traditional Hindu wedding ritual of garland exchange, the groom placed the garland around the bride’s neck. However, the bride suddenly removed the garland and threw it away, walking out of the wedding hall. She claimed that the groom’s hand had touched her neck, which upset her greatly.
Despite efforts by the bride’s family to calm her down, the situation escalated. The groom’s family felt embarrassed by the unusual behavior, and tensions grew between both families. The bride then demanded that the money spent on the wedding by her family be refunded by the groom’s side.
This led to heated arguments, and the situation became so intense that the police had to step in to mediate. However, the groom’s family refused to return the money, and as a result, the wedding was officially cancelled. The food that had been prepared for the wedding was distributed to local schools.
