Bengaluru Woman Kills Elderly Mother, Carries Body to Police in Suitcase

Bengaluru, India:
In a shocking crime, a 39-year-old physiotherapist named Sonali Sen killed her 71-year-old mother, stuffed her body into a suitcase, and carried it to the police station in an auto-rickshaw.

The incident took place in Mico Layout, Bengaluru. Sen, originally from West Bengal, was the only child of her parents. She had been taking care of her mother, Bibha Paul, after her father died five years ago in Kolkata.

According to police reports, Sen first gave her mother around 30 blood pressure tablets. When the elderly woman lost consciousness, Sen strangled her using a dupatta. She then placed the body in a suitcase, added a photo of the victim inside, and went directly to the local police station. There, she calmly told the officers, “I have killed my mother. The body is in the suitcase.”

Sonali Sen lived in an apartment in Bilekahalli with her husband, son, mother, and mother-in-law. On the day of the murder, her mother-in-law and child were at home in another room but were unaware of the crime.

A police officer said, “We are still looking into the reason for the murder. It could be due to domestic problems. She had taken physiotherapy training and was the only child caring for her mother. The victim was suffering from some health issues.”

A murder case has been officially registered, and further investigation is underway.
