Bengaluru Woman Kills Mother, Puts Body in Suitcase, Takes it to Police Station

A shocking incident in Bengaluru unfolded when a 39-year-old physiotherapist, Sonali Sen, murdered her 71-year-old mother, Bibha Paul, over a family dispute. Sen then stuffed her mother’s body into a suitcase and took it to the police station.

The crime began with Sen administering 30 BP tablets to her mother. When Paul fell unconscious, Sen strangled her to death with a dupatta. Sen then transported the suitcase containing her mother’s body to the police station in an auto-rickshaw, where she confessed: “I have killed my mother, the body is in the suitcase.”

According to the police, Sen, originally from West Bengal, had been caring for her mother since her father’s death in Kolkata five years ago. Sen lived with her husband, son, mother-in-law, and her mother in an apartment in Bilekahalli, Mico Layout, Bengaluru.

After committing the murder, Sen placed her mother’s body in a suitcase along with her photograph and went to the police station in Mico Layout. A police sub-inspector subsequently filed a murder case.

The police are still investigating the motive behind the murder. “Sen must be taken into custody for questioning. She has taken physiotherapy courses and might have faced domestic problems,” said a police official. “She is her parents’ only child and had been looking after her mother for the past five years. The victim had some medical conditions. At the time of the murder, Sen’s mother-in-law and child were present in the house but in a different room.”

This case highlights the complexities and tragic outcomes of domestic disputes and the severe consequences they can lead to.
