Man Dragged on Car Bonnet by Woman for 3 km in Bengaluru

A shocking incident occurred in Bengaluru where a woman allegedly dragged a man on the bonnet of her SUV for over 3 kilometers on Ullal Main Road, near Jnanabharathi. The event took place on Friday morning around 10:15 a.m. and resulted in the arrest of the woman involved.

The Bengaluru police arrested the woman for dragging a 29-year-old man, Darshan S, on the bonnet of her Tata Nexon SUV for approximately 4 kilometers. Both the man and the woman, identified as Priyanka, have been charged in separate cases registered by the Jnana Bharathi police.

According to Darshan’s complaint, he was driving a Maruti Swift and confronted Priyanka for ignoring a red light at a junction. He claimed that Priyanka responded with a vulgar gesture and verbal abuse, prompting him to follow her car and block it. Darshan further stated that he was assaulted by a man who removed his shirt, and the police arrived at the scene, asking all parties to visit the police station. Priyanka allegedly refused to comply and started driving her vehicle while Darshan was standing in front of the car, leading him to fall onto the bonnet. Priyanka then reportedly drove for 3-4 kilometers before locals intervened and stopped the vehicle.

A case has been filed against Priyanka, her husband Pramod, and her friend Nithish, with charges under IPC sections for criminal intimidation, rash driving, attempt to murder, and voluntarily causing hurt.

In a separate complaint, Priyanka’s husband, Pramod, accused Darshan of abusing and physically assaulting his wife. He alleged that Darshan and his friends attempted to damage their car’s windows. According to Pramod, Darshan jumped onto the car when they tried to leave the scene, forcing them to drive to Sankalpa Hospital, where they stopped.

Darshan has been charged under multiple IPC sections, including criminal force to disrobe a woman, criminal intimidation, wrongful restraint, and outraging the modesty of a woman.
