Woman in Ahmedabad Allegedly Kills Jobless Husband with Lover’s Help Over Financial Disputes

In July 2021, a 38-year-old woman from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, allegedly plotted the murder of her unemployed husband with the help of her 19-year-old lover and two other men. The woman, identified as Rekha, was reportedly frustrated with her husband, Jignesh Solanki, for being jobless and spending all her money.

Rekha enlisted the help of her boyfriend, Sabir Pathan, and a friend, Raju Damor, in carrying out the crime. A 22-year-old man also joined the group in executing the murder plan. On July 17, the four suspects met near the eastern side of the riverfront close to Ellis Bridge, where they allegedly assaulted Solanki before strangling him to death. The group then left Solanki’s body near Victoria Garden and fled the scene.

The Gaekwad Haveli police registered a case of murder, which was later transferred to the crime branch. Following the investigation, Rekha, Pathan, and another suspect named Thakkar were arrested, while the search for Damor continues.
