A 32-year-old man from Mumbai, identified as Satish Ghodke, tragically died by suicide after reportedly being harassed by his wife and her family. The police have registered a case against four individuals, including his wife, Shubhangi Ghodke, at the Vimantal police station in Pune.
Satish and Shubhangi had been married for nearly seven years, but their relationship was troubled by frequent arguments. According to the police, Shubhangi often doubted Satish’s character and pressured him to move from their village to Pune to find a job.
Feeling overwhelmed by the ongoing harassment and stress, Satish left Pune on February 27 and took his own life by jumping in front of a train at Kurla railway station in Mumbai.
The police filed the case based on a complaint from Satish’s father, who blamed his son’s wife and her family members—Vijay Mali Patil, Jayshreebai Mali Patil, and Ganapatrao Mali Patil—for his death. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
