Bride Cancels Wedding After Groom Touches Her Neck During Garland Exchange
In a bizarre incident in Karnataka, a bride called off her wedding after the groom touched her neck while exchanging garlands. The bride, from Moodukonaje, and the groom, from Naravi, were set to marry on May 25, 2022, in Naravi.
During the Hindu wedding ritual of exchanging garlands, the bride suddenly removed the garland from her neck, threw it away, and walked out of the wedding hall. She complained that the groom’s hand had touched her neck. Despite efforts from her family to calm her down, she refused to proceed with the ceremony.
Feeling insulted by the bride’s behavior, the groom’s family decided to call off the wedding. The bride then demanded that all the money spent on the wedding by her family be returned by the groom’s family. This led to heated arguments between both parties, prompting police intervention.
The police tried to mediate the dispute, but the groom’s family stood firm, and the wedding was ultimately canceled. The food prepared for the wedding was later distributed among local schools.
